Violent Crimes

THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Violent Crimes Section are dedicated to the pursuit of justice in each and every case which is investigated. To that end, the Homicide Section has established the Cold Case Detail. A cold case by definition is any murder, missing person, or suspicious death that is not actively investigated by the original assigned investigators.

Cold case murders normally fall into three categories:

  1. Unsolved: No known suspects.
  2. Unresolved: Suspect(s) known/suspected but never successfully prosecuted.
  3. Unidentified: Victim identity unknown (Jane or John Doe).

The Cold Case files currently number over 450 unresolved cases, the oldest being from 1952.

This site will profile cases on a regular basis encouraging anyone with information to contact the Cold Case Investigators with the goal of reaching a resolution. Information, on active cases, and cases which may be known to the reader but not yet profiled, is welcomed.

Visitors to this site are urged to contact the Investigators at:

E-mail: coldcasecorner@lvmpd.com
Phone: 702-828-COLD (2653)

Investigators welcome any and all information that is provided.
