BACKGROUND
Las Vegas resident for over 40 years. He began his law enforcement career by joining the police academy in 1978.

LAW ENFORCEMENT HISTORY
During his tenure as an officer his assignments included that of a Field Training Officer and SWAT Officer. In 1984, he was promoted to a Patrol Sergeant and later assigned as Sergeant to the Detective Bureau. While in this capacity he was instrumental in creating the Tourist Safety Unit and Repeat Offender Detail. In 1995 he was promoted to Lieutenant with assignments in the Detective Bureau and Patrol until 2002 when he was promoted to Captain. As Captain, he was assigned to the Downtown Area Command and the Robbery/Homicide Bureau until he promoted to Deputy Chief in 2005 when he became the Human Resources Division Commander.
