Accreditation Commitment and Benefits

In keeping with our department values, the Sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is committed to the Accreditation standards and process, to ensure we provide the highest level of services to the community. The accreditation standards serve as the foundation for our department to meet or exceed, nationally established benchmarks, for policing activities, forensic lab, and detention services and health care.  Accreditation requires meeting over 1,000 accreditation standards by the four accrediting bodies.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is the largest of only five police agencies in the country to hold all four of these accreditations.  Maintaining this accreditation confirms our emphasis on professionalism and excellence in policing and providing service to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Community and to Clark County.
