In Southern Nevada the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is home to a fast paced, and always awake town that has tripled in size within the last decade. Along with that fast pace and swelling population is an increased attraction to the rugged mountains throughout Clark County. Hikers, rock climbers, campers, backpackers, mountain bikers, cavers and explorers sometimes find themselves trapped, lost or injured in various high or difficult places. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Search and Rescue Unit has been given the responsibility to rescue them wherever they may be. It is our duty to provide the highest level of skill and best possible care to those that call upon us for help.
