About

Northwest Area Command (NWAC) opened in December 2008 and is in the northwestern part of the Las Vegas Valley. It is bordered by the Sheep Mountain Range to the north, Decatur Blvd. to the east, Lake Mead and Cheyenne boulevards to the south and stops at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to the west. NWAC serves the outlying communities of Mount Charleston, Indian Springs, and Creech Air Force Base, which are served by the Resident Officers assigned to the Area Command.

Services available at this location

• Filing reports
• Obtaining a copy of a police report (attorneys must obtain reports through LVMPD Records and Fingerprint at LVMPD Headquarters)
• Local background check (for self)
• Disposal of old/expired medications – Pills only, no liquids or needles.

Services available only at LVMPD Records and Fingerprint located at LVMPD Headquarters:

• Fingerprinting
• Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) applications
• ATF applications
• Workcard applications
• Convicted persons and sex offender registration

Services not available by LVMPD:

• Removal of abandoned vehicles (City Code Enforcement or County Code Enforcement)
• Temporary Protection Orders-TPO (Family Court) or dial 702-455-3400
• Restraining Orders (Justice Court)
• Court Case information
• Evictions (Constables Office)
• Animal issues and/or concerns (Animal Control) City of Las Vegas or Clark County.
• Permits for special events, film studios, etc.

- For incidents that occurred on public school property, please refer to CCSD School Police.

- For incidents that occurred within Henderson city limits, please refer to Henderson Police Department.

- For incidents that occurred within North Las Vegas city limits, please refer to North Las Vegas Police Department.
