Services Provided at Your Area Command
Filing a crime report or traffic collision.
Certain copies of reports and records are available at area commands via credit or debit card payment only; cash is not accepted.
- Background Checks available only to the owner of the record
- For example, you can only obtain a background check for yourself.
- Incident Crime Reports available only to victims of a crime
- For copies of reports in which you are not an involved party, you must submit a public records request online.
- Traffic Accident Reports available only to the owner of the record
- For example, if you were a driver or pedestrian involved in an accident or the registered owner of a vehicle involved in a traffic accident.
All other request for reports or records are provided by the Records and Fingerprint Bureau located at 400 S Martin Luther King Blvd., Building C. You can find more information on obtaining copies of reports by visiting our Records and Fingerprint Bureau webpage.
Medication Disposal Boxes Available to the Public
Each LVMPD patrol substation is equipped with a secure box for the anonymous disposal of unused, expired prescriptions or over-the-counter medications. Pills or capsules can be dropped off at any location. We cannot accept liquids, aerosols or needles.

About
South Central Area Command (SCAC) opened in October 2002 and stretches from Sahara Avenue to the north to the City of Henderson to the south. Its boundary stretches east of the I-15 Highway to Pecos Road to the west. The area command includes Harry Reid International Airport, which is the 9th busiest airport by passenger traffic.

- Disposal of old/expired medications – Pills only, no liquids or needles.

- Fingerprinting
- Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) applications
- ATF applications
- Workcard applications
- Convicted persons and sex offender registration
Services not available by LVMPD:
- Removal of abandoned vehicles (City Code Enforcement or County Code Enforcement)
- Temporary Protection Orders-TPO (Family Court) or dial 702-455-3400
- Restraining Orders (Justice Court)
- Court Case information
- Evictions (Constables Office)
- Animal issues and/or concerns (Animal Control) City of Las Vegas or Clark County.
- Permits for special events, film studios, etc.

- For incidents that occurred within Henderson city limits, please refer to Henderson Police Department.
- For incidents that occurred within North Las Vegas city limits, please refer to North Las Vegas Police Department.
