** Update - Suspect in Custody ** 

 The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has been notified that Erick Rangel-Ibarra was taken into custody by authorities in Mexico. He will remain in custody pending a decision on his extradition to the United States. 

** Original Information ** 

In the past few days, LVMPD Missing Persons Detectives have been investigating the disappearance of 22-year-old Lesly Palacio, who was last seen on August 29, 2020.  Through the course of the investigation, detectives began to consider foul play as a motive for her disappearance and the investigation has been transferred to the LVMPD Homicide section.

On September 9, 2020, LVMPD investigators, with the assistance of Moapa Tribal Police and Red Rock Search & Rescue, located Lesly Palacio’s body near Valley of Fire State Park in Moapa Valley.

Homicide detectives have identified 25-year-old Erick Rangel-Ibarra as the suspect in Palacio’s death and they will be pursuing a warrant for his arrest for one count of Open Murder.
