LVMPD Provides Update on Cybertruck Explosion

This afternoon, Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren provided an update on the investigation of Matthew Livelsberger. Investigators discovered a possible manifesto, in addition to two letters previously released and an email sent by the suspect to a podcast host.
New evidence reinforced the suspects death to be a suicide and the vehicle explosion to be an intentional act. Livelsberger used advanced Generative Artificial Intelligence technology to research explosives and ignition mechanisms.
Attached is a journal of Livelsberger’s trip and images of the use of ChatGPT.
This is an ongoing joint investigation between the LVMPD and federal partners. We are still in the process of collecting a large amount of data to include additional documents that need to be evaluated.
