FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On January 7, 2025, at approximately 6:15 AM, a vehicle versus motorcycle collision occurred at the intersection of Frank Sinatra Drive and Caesars Service Drive. Evidence at the scene indicated a 2024 Hyundai Tucson was traveling southbound on Frank Sinatra, approaching a red traffic signal at Caesars Service Drive in the right-most dedicated left turn lane. A 1990 Honda CBR600 motorcycle was traveling northbound on Frank Sinatra Drive in the right-most travel lane approaching the intersection of Caesars Service Drive with a green traffic signal. The driver of the Hyundai failed to obey the traffic control device, made a left turn against a red signal, and failed to yield to the northbound motorcycle. The Hyundai entered the Honda's path of travel. The Honda rider attempted to avoid the collision and lost control of the Honda, and it overturned. The Honda and its rider made contact with the right rear of the Hyundai.
The rider of the Honda was transported to University Medical Center (UMC) Trauma for his injuries. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the collision scene, claimed no injuries, and showed no signs of impairment.
On January 9, 2025, a representative from the Clark County Coroner's Office notified the LVMPD Fatal Detail that the Honda's rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at UMC Hospital. The rider's death marks the 4th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD jurisdiction for the year 2025. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
