On February 2, 2025, at approximately 12:03 AM, a fatal vehicle collision occurred at East Desert Inn Road and Pawnee Drive. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate a 2022 Nissan Altima traveled westbound on East Desert Inn Road near Pawnee Drive. A pedestrian crossed East Desert Inn Road west of Pawnee Drive outside a marked crosswalk. A collision occurred when the pedestrian entered the path of the approaching Nissan and was struck. The collision redirected the pedestrian to the west, where he came to rest. The Nissan came to a controlled stop.
Emergency medical personnel arrived and determined the pedestrian was beyond resuscitation and ceased lifesaving efforts. The Nissan’s driver remained at the collision scene and was not impaired. The pedestrian’s death marks the 17th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2025. The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
