On Tuesday February 25, 2025, a fatal collision occurred at S. El Capitan Way and Fawn Grove Drive. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and crash video indicated that a 2008 GMC Envoy was traveling east on Fawn Grove Drive, stopped for a posted stop sign at El Capitan Way. A 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Night motorcycle was traveling south on El Capitan Way approaching Fawn Grove Drive. The GMC entered the intersection to turn left and traveled into the path of the approaching motorcycle. The motorcycle overturned and ejected the motorcyclist onto the roadway. Arriving medical personnel transported the motorcyclist to the University Medical Centers Trauma Unit in critical condition. Despite all life saving measures, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival and was pronounced deceased by trauma staff. The motorcyclist's death marks the 31st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2025. The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
