The driver's death marks the 87th traffic related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2025.

On April 21, 2025, at approximately 8:39 a.m., a vehicle versus vehicle traffic collision occurred in the intersection of East Flamingo Road and Spencer Street. The on-scene investigation determined that a 2007 Hyundai Azera was traveling eastbound Flamingo in the right of three travel lanes approaching a red light at Spencer Street. A 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling southbound Spencer Street in the only straight travel lane. The Hyundai entered the intersection on a red traffic signal in front of the Mitsubishi. A collision occurred when the front of the Mitsubishi struck the left rear side of the Hyundai. The Hyundai was redirected where it went off the roadway, where the left side struck a light pole.

Arriving medical personnel transported the driver of the Hyundai to Sunrise Hospital for his injuries. The driver and passenger of the Mitsubishi claimed injuries on-scene and were not transported. The driver of the Mitsubishi showed no signs of impairment.

The Clark County Coroner/Medical Examiner Office notified the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section that the driver of the Hyundai had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
