***Single motorcycle versus fixed object traffic collision that caused the death of the motorcyclist. This collision marks the 94th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2025. ***

On July 23, 2025, at approximately 1:07 a.m., a single motorcycle versus fixed object fatal traffic collision occurred on E. Carey Avenue west of N. Christy Lane. Evidence at the collision scene indicated a 2014 Yamaha V Star motorcycle was traveling westbound on E. Carey Avenue east of N. Christy Lane in the left of two westbound travel lanes towards a sweeping left curve. The motorcyclist failed to negotiate the curve and left the roadway to the right. The motorcyclist was separated from the Yamaha and struck a luminary support.

Arriving medical personnel determined the motorcyclist was beyond medical intervention and he was pronounced deceased at the collision scene.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
