 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A single vehicle collision results in life-threatening injuries.

On August 31st, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a single vehicle collision occurred on East Sahara Avenue, west of the intersection with Sloan Avenue. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated that a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Sahara Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road, causing the pickup to run off the road to the right. The pickup drove onto the sidewalk, striking a utility box and a block wall. The vehicle then re-entered the road and came to rest in the eastbound travel lane approximately 430 feet from where it first struck the curb.

Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported the driver to Sunrise Hospital, where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening. Due to the severity of the injuries, impairment is not known at this time. The driver of the pickup was admitted to the hospital for continuing treatment of his injuries. The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
