A vehicle versus motorcycle collision leaves the motorcyclist in critical condition.
On September 1, 2025, at approximately 5:03 p.m., a critical injury vehicle versus motorcycle traffic collision occurred at the intersection of West Desert Inn Road and South Biscayne Bay Drive. Evidence at the scene indicated a 2012 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Desert Inn Road, approaching Biscayne Bay Drive in the center turn lane. A 2011 Taizhou City Kaitong motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Desert Inn Road, approaching Biscayne Bay Drive in the right of three travel lanes. The Nissan began to make a left turn to travel southbound on Biscayne Bay Drive, turning into the travel path of the motorcycle. A collision occurred when the front of the Nissan struck the front of the motorcycle. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle onto the roadway and came to rest on the southeast sidewalk.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to the UMC-Trauma Unit with injuries determined to be life-threatening by the hospital staff. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene of the collision and showed no signs of impairment.
This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
