***Single moped collision results in life-threatening injuries***

On September 30th, 2025, at approximately 1:32 a.m., a single moped collision occurred on West Sahara Avenue, east of the intersection with South Fort Apache Road. Evidence at the scene indicated the moped was westbound on Sahara in the leftmost travel lane when, for unknown reasons, it collided with the center median. The rider rode over the desert landscape in the median and overturned in the eastbound travel lanes. The rider was separated from the moped, and both came to rest on the road. A passerby observed the rider on the road and called 9-1-1.

Emergency Medical Services and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officers responded to the reported collision scene. The rider was transported to the University Medical Center Trauma Center, where he remains with life threatening injuries. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Collision Investigation Section.
