Sheriff Kevin McMahill
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On October 28, 2025, Sheriff Kevin McMahill unveiled 10 Tesla Cybertrucks for patrol use across the valley. The vehicles will be used by patrol officers and will carry tactical tools needed to assist the men and women of LVMPD on critical calls for service such as barricades and shootings. Each area command will receive a Cybertruck.
Since his election, the Sheriff has made it a priority to make LVMPD the most technologically advanced police department in the country. The introduction of Cybertrucks is a continuation of recent advances to include the Joint Emergency Training Institute, Drone First Responder Unit, and remotely operated drones.
The cost of the Cybertrucks was covered by a generous donation from Ben and Felicia Horowitz. No tax dollars were used to purchase or outfit these vehicles for patrol use.
LVMPD would like to thank the following businesses for their assistance:
- Unplugged Performance and Upfit – For outfitting the vehicles for patrol functions
- Ink and Architectural Expo – For wrapping the Cybertrucks
The unveiling of the patrol vehicles took place at the Otonomus Hotel, 5050 West Russell Road.
