The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has released the after-action report on the Tesla Cybertruck explosion that occurred January 1, 2025, at the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas.
This report provides a comprehensive review of the LVMPD’s response to the incident with the goal of strengthening future preparedness, response efforts and identifying opportunities for improvement.
The report not only highlights the strengths of LVMPD’s response to the Cybertruck explosion but also serves as a critical tool for continuous advancement. The coordinated efforts of local, federal and private-sector partners were essential in mitigating the immediate threat and preserving public safety during the incident.
By implementing the outlined recommendations in the report and reinforcing key areas such as officer safety, resource management, communication, policy and training, and the incorporation of vital technology, LVMPD and its partners will be better prepared to manage future critical incidents.
