***Vehicle travels through a red light, striking two pedestrians crossing against the don't walk signal***
On November 8, 2025, at approximately 10:54 p.m., a life-threatening collision occurred on Mel Torme Way at Spring Mountain Road. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and video surveillance indicate that a Toyota Camry traveled northbound on Mel Torme Way at Spring Mountain Road. Two pedestrians were crossing Mel Torme Way on Spring Mountain Road in the south crosswalk. A collision occurred when the pedestrians crossed the intersection against the "walk/don't walk" signal, and the Toyota entered the intersection on a steady red light. The front of the Toyota crashed into the pedestrians, projecting them north onto the roadway.
Arriving emergency medical personnel transported both of the pedestrians to University Medical Center with injuries ranging from substantial to life-threatening.
The Toyota driver remained at the scene of the collision and showed signs of impairment. He was subsequently placed under arrest for charges related to Driving Under Influence and reckless Driving.
The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
