On November 20, 2025, at approximately 4:44 p.m., a vehicle versus vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Blue Diamond Road and South Valley View Boulevard. Evidence at the collision scene and witness statements indicated that a 2019 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Blue Diamond Road, approaching a fresh red traffic signal at Valley View Boulevard in the right travel lane of four (T4). A 2021 Kia Forte was stopped for a red traffic signal, facing southbound on Valley View Boulevard, north of Blue Diamond Road, in the right travel lane of two (T2). When the southbound light cycled to a green signal, the driver of the Kia entered the intersection, traveling southbound. A collision occurred when the driver of the Honda failed to obey the red traffic signal and entered the intersection, colliding with the Kia. 

Arriving medical personnel transported the passenger of the Honda to the UMC Trauma Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel also transported the driver of the Kia to the UMC Trauma Center for minor injuries. The driver of the Honda was transported to the UMC Trauma Center by family members for minor injuries.

Considering the extent of the injuries at the time, a request was not made for the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section to respond to the collision scene.

Both drivers cooperated with the investigation, and neither showed signs of impairment.

On November 20, 2025, a representative from the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner contacted the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section and advised that the passenger in the Honda, despite all life-saving measures, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff on November 20, 2025.

The passenger’s death marked the 145th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for the year 2025. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
