This pedestrian's death marks the 146th Traffic-Related Fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2025.
On November 23, 2025, at approximately 5:51 PM, a vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred on South Nellis Boulevard south of East Sahara Avenue. Evidence at the collision scene indicated a pedestrian was crossing Nellis Boulevard south of Sahara Avenue from east to west outside of a marked or implied crosswalk. A 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling south on Nellis Boulevard south of Sahara Avenue in the middle of three southbound travel lanes. A collision occurred when the pedestrian crossed the Chevrolet’s path of travel. The front of the Chevrolet contacted the pedestrian, projecting him southbound onto the roadway.
The driver of the Chevrolet brought the vehicle to a controlled stop and remained at the scene of the collision. The driver of the Chevrolet did not display any indicators of impairment.
Emergency Medical Personnel responded to the collision scene and transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital by ambulance. Despite medical intervention, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
