Fatal hit-and-run collision results in the 147th traffic-related fatality.
On November 29th, 2025, at approximately 3:40 a.m., a fatal hit-and-run vehicle versus motorcycle collision occurred on East Tropicana Avenue at the intersection with Mountain Vista Street. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and surveillance video indicated that a 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Tropicana Avenue approaching the intersection with Mountain Vista Street. A 2018 Chevrolet was attempting a left turn from eastbound Tropicana Avenue to northbound Mountain Vista Street. The Chevrolet failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle. The motorcycle and rider collided with the right side of the pickup. The Chevrolet and driver fled the scene without providing any identifying information.
Emergency Medical Services responded and attempted medical interventions. Despite all life-saving efforts, the rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The rider's death marks the 147th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2025. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
