 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On December 29, 2025, at approximately 8:17 a.m., LVMPD Communications received a call requesting a welfare check on a family member at a residence in the 2200 block of East Desert Inn Road. Officers gained entry and located a female lying in a bed suffering from apparent stab wounds. Medical personnel were requested and pronounced the female deceased at the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that 41-year-old Franklin Flores entered his grandmother’s home and killed her with an unknown weapon.

Flores was later located near Stephanie Street and American Pacific Drive and taken into custody with the assistance of the Henderson Police Department. Flores was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
