Motorcyclist's death marks the 3rd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2026.

On January 1, 2026, at approximately 10:29 PM, a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of East Craig Road and North Lamont Street. Evidence at the collision scene and witness statements indicated a 2010 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Craig Road, approaching the intersection of Lamont Street in the dedicated left turn lane. A 2012 Can-Am Spyder was traveling eastbound on Craig Road, approaching the intersection of Lamont Street. The driver of the Honda began her left turn onto Lamont Street, failing to yield to the Can-Am. The Honda entered the Can-Am's path of travel, and a collision occurred when the front of the Can-Am contacted the right side of the Honda. The rider of the Can-Am was ejected eastbound onto the roadway. The driver of the Honda stopped south of the collision on Lamont Street.

Arriving medical personnel determined that the rider of the Can-Am was beyond medical resuscitation and was pronounced deceased at the collision scene. The driver of the Honda claimed no injuries resulting from the collision. The right front passenger of the Honda claimed minor injuries and refused to be transported to the hospital.

The Driver of the Honda showed signs of impairment and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for DUI-related charges.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
