***Correction to fatality number for the year 2026. ***

On January 28, 2026, at approximately 5:22 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred on Boulder Highway, north of Nevada Avenue. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a male pedestrian was crossing Boulder Highway eastbound outside of a marked or implied crosswalk. A collision occurred when the pedestrian crossed into the path of a southbound Toyota Tacoma that was traveling southbound in the left of three southbound travel lanes (T1). The front of the Toyota struck the pedestrian, which redirected him to the south and onto the pavement.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. The pedestrian sustained mortal injuries from the collision and was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The pedestrian’s death marked the 11th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2026. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
