On January 28, 2025, at approximately 8:19 p.m., a vehicle versus motorcycle collision occurred on West Washington Avenue, west of Rancho Drive. Evidence at the scene indicated that a stolen 2019 Honda 450 CRF Enduro motorcycle was traveling westbound on Washington Avenue, west of Rancho Drive, in the right travel lane of two (T2). A 2006 Lexus GS300 was traveling eastbound on Washington Avenue, west of Rancho Drive, and entered the two-way center turn lane. A collision occurred when the Lexus made a left turn, into a private drive, crossing the Honda’s path of travel. The Honda overturned and collided with the front right portion of the Lexus, ejecting the rider.
The motorcycle rider was transported to the UMC Trauma Center by medical personnel. Despite all life-saving measures, the rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff. No occupants of the Lexus reported any injuries.
The driver of the Lexus remained at the collision scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
The motorcycle rider’s death marked the 12th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for the year 2026. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
