***Vehicle vs. pedestrian collision results in life-threatening injuries***
On January 31, 2026, at approximately 8:33 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred on East Owens Avenue and North Nellis Boulevard. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and video footage indicated a male pedestrian was crossing North Nellis Boulevard westbound in a marked crosswalk against an illuminated red signal. A collision occurred when the pedestrian crossed into the path of a northbound Dodge Ram 1500 that was traveling northbound in the left of three northbound travel lanes (T1). The right front side of the Dodge Ram struck the pedestrian, redirecting him northeast onto the roadway.
Emergency Medical Services responded immediately to the collision scene and began life-saving measures for the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to the University Medical Center Trauma Center and was admitted with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene of the collision, cooperated with the investigation, and showed no signs of impairment.
This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
