 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Automobile versus pedestrian collision results in life-threatening injuries.

On March 21, 2026, at approximately 5:38 AM, a critical injury collision occurred on Blue Diamond Road, west of South Buffalo Drive. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that a 1998 Honda CRV traveled eastbound on Blue Diamond Road, approaching South Buffalo Drive. A pedestrian crossed Blue Diamond Road west of South Buffalo Drive, outside of a marked or implied crosswalk. A collision occurred when the pedestrian entered the eastbound travel lanes and into the path of the approaching Honda. The Honda attempted to stop and avoid the pedestrian but was unsuccessful. The Honda's front struck the pedestrian, redirecting her onto the roadway as the Honda came to rest.

Emergency medical personnel transported the pedestrian to University Medical Center's Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries, where she remains in critical condition. The Honda driver remained at the scene of the collision and was not impaired. The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
