Vehicle driver suffers life-threatening injuries as a result of a multi-vehicle collision.

On March 23, 2026, at approximately 09:30 a.m., a multi-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of West Charleston Boulevard and South Cimarron Road. Evidence at the collision scene, along with a witness statement, indicates a 2012 Hyundai Sonata was northbound on South Cimarron Road approaching West Charleston Boulevard. A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, was eastbound on West Charleston Boulevard, approaching South Cimarron Road. A 2004 Chrysler Sebring was stopped westbound West Charleston Boulevard in single left turn lane. A collision occurred when the Chevrolet entered the intersection against a steady red traffic signal. The front end of the Chevrolet struck the driver’s side of the Hyundai. This collision redirected both vehicles into the westbound lanes of West Charleston Boulevard where the front right of the Chevrolet struck the front of the Chrysler.

Emergency Medical personnel responded and transported the occupants of the Hyundai and Chrysler to University Medical Center (UMC). The driver of the Hyundai sustained life-threatening injuries and remains under medical observation at UMC. Her passenger sustained substantial injuries, while both occupants of the Chrysler sustained moderate injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet did not claim injury. He remained at the collision scene and showed signs of impairment. He was subsequently arrested for DUI related charges.

This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
