FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On March 26, 2026, at approximately 5:28 p.m., LVMPD Communications received a report of a stabbing in the 8200 block of Cupertino Heights Way. Patrol officers arrived and located a male inside of a residence suffering from several apparent stab wounds. Medical personnel were summoned and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
At approximately 6:03 p.m., LVMPD Communications received a report from a family member of the victim stating the suspect had just contacted them, said he had killed the victim, and was on his way to a resort property on Las Vegas Boulevard to commit suicide.
Patrol officers along with a drone were assigned to the call. The drone pilot was able to locate a male matching the description of the suspect on top of a parking garage in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. The pilot directed the patrol officers to the suspect. As officers exited their patrol vehicles and started to issue verbal commands, the suspect jumped off the structure. Medical was immediately requested and pronounced the suspect deceased at the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, LVMPD Homicide Detectives were able to determine the victim and suspect were roommates. The two had gotten into an argument that led to the suspect retrieving a knife and stabbing the victim multiple times.
The identification of the decedents, as well as the cause and manner of death, can be obtained through the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
