***Vehicle versus Vehicle traffic collision that resulted in the death of one of the drivers. This collision marks the 37th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2026.***

On April 8, 2026, at approximately 10:29 p.m., a fatal vehicle versus vehicle traffic collision occurred on N. Hollywood Boulevard south of E. Bonanza Road. Evidence at the collision scene and witness statements indicated a Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling southbound on Hollywood Boulevard, approaching Bonanza Road at a high rate of speed. A GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Hollywood Boulevard, approaching Bonanza Road. As the Pontiac crossed the intersection at Bonanza, the driver lost control of the vehicle, rotating counterclockwise and crossing left of center into the northbound travel lanes. A collision occurred when the passenger's side of the Pontiac struck the front of the GMC. After the impact, the GMC overturned onto its passenger's side.

Arriving medical personnel determined the driver of the Pontiac was beyond medical intervention and was pronounced deceased at the collision scene. The driver and passenger of the GMC were transported by ground ambulance to UMC Trauma and treated for minor to moderate injuries.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
