LVMPD Investigates 4th OIS of 2026
On April 21, 2026, at approximately 4:55 p.m., LVMPD Communications received a report of a male destroying property and causing a disturbance at an apartment complex located in the 200 block of North 11th Street. Arriving officers encountered the individual on the 4th floor of the building. At some point, the suspect produced what was believed to be a gun, and an officer discharged his firearm toward the suspect. The individual then retreated into a nearby room and barricaded himself.
The incident was deemed a barricade and SWAT and Crisis Negotiators responded to the scene. After several hours, the suspect was taken into custody. Medical personnel responded and determined the suspect was not struck by gunfire.
This is the 4th officer-involved shooting of 2026. Per LVMPD policy, the identity of the officer involved will be released after 48 hours.
