***This vehicle versus pedestrian collision resulted in the pedestrian sustaining life-threatening injuries.***
On April 21, 2026, at approximately 3:07 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision occurred on Narrow Canyon Street north of Fox Forest Street. Evidence at the collision scene and video surveillance indicated the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox and a pedestrian exited a residence on Narrow Canyon Street. The driver then entered the Chevrolet that was parked in the driveway of the residence. The pedestrian was standing in the roadway behind the Chevrolet near the edge of the driveway. The pedestrian was waiting for a vehicle to pass so she could cross the roadway to another residence. The driver backed the Chevrolet onto the roadway, unaware that the pedestrian was standing behind the Chevrolet. A collision occurred when the rear of the Chevrolet struck the pedestrian knocking her to the ground. The Chevrolet came to a stop with the pedestrian underneath the vehicle.
Arriving medical personnel transported the pedestrian to UMC Trauma for advanced medical care where she remains in life-threatening condition.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the collision scene and showed no signs of impairment. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Departments Collision investigation Section.
