***A vehicle versus vehicle collision results in life-threatening injuries***

On May 26, 2026, at approximately 5:27 p.m., a life-threatening injury collision occurred between a 2020 GMC Terrain and a 2010 Honda Accord. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and video surveillance indicated that the Honda was traveling eastbound on Sunset Road, east of Pine Street, in the left of three travel lanes. The GMC was traveling westbound on Sunset Road, east of Pine Street, in the left of three travel lanes. For unknown reasons, the GMC veered to the left, striking the center median, and then traveled westbound in the eastbound lanes. A collision occurred when the front of the GMC struck the left front of the Honda.

Emergency Medical Services were immediately requested to the collision scene. Both drivers were transported to Sunrise Hospital. The driver of the GMC sustained life-threatening injuries, and the driver of the Honda sustained serious injuries.

This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
