 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On June 3, 2026, at approximately 12:25 p.m., LVMPD Communications received multiple reports of a man with a gun firing into traffic near the intersection of North Sloan Lane and East Lake Mead Boulevard. When officers arrived, they located an adult male armed with a firearm. The suspect refused officers’ commands to drop the gun, pointed his firearm at them, and fired a shot toward officers. The officers then returned fire, striking the suspect.

The suspect was taken into custody, and officers immediately provided medical aid. Despite those efforts, medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene. No officers were injured during the incident.

This is the 6th officer-involved shooting of 2026. Per LVMPD policy, the identity of the officer involved will be released after 48 hours.
