 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A vehicle collision with a minibike leads to life-threatening injuries.

On June 3, 2026, at approximately 10:33 PM, a critical injury collision occurred on Wisteria Avenue and Shawnee Avenue. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and video surveillance indicate that a non-street-legal minibike traveled southbound on Wisteria Avenue, approaching Shawnee Avenue. A 2019 Ram 1500 traveled northbound on Wisteria Avenue, approaching Shawnee Avenue. A collision occurred when the Ram made a left turn as the minibike reached the intersection. The front of the Ram struck the minibike, redirecting it to the north. The Ram left the roadway and came to a controlled stop in the intersection's northwest corner.

Arriving emergency medical personnel transported the minibike rider to University Medical Center's Trauma Center, where he remains in life-threatening condition. The Ram's driver remained at the scene of the collision and was not impaired.
