***Vehicle versus motorcycle traffic collision that caused the death of the rider. This collision marks the 51st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2026***

On June 6th, 2026, at approximately 3:25 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred on E. Warm Springs Road and Placid Street. Evidence at the collision scene and the driver's statement indicated a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling northbound on Placid Street crossing E. Warm Springs Road from a posted stop sign. A Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was traveling westbound on E. Warm Springs approaching Placid Street with no traffic control devices requiring a stop. As the Nissan Pathfinder was crossing the intersection, it entered the path of the Kawasaki Ninja. A collision occurred when the front of the Kawasaki Ninja struck the passengers side of the Nissan Pathfinder. Upon impact, the rider was ejected from the Kawasaki Ninja and came to rest on Placid Street north of the intersection.

Arriving medical personnel transported the rider to UMC Trauma for advanced medical attention. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the rider succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the collision and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at UMC Trauma.

The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder sustained minor injuries from the collision. The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder remained at the collision scene, showed no signs of impairment, and cooperated with the investigation.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
