COLLISION DETAILS:

Driver sustains life-threatening injuries in a vehicle versus vehicle collision. On June 27, 2026, at approximately 1:22 p.m., a critical multi-vehicle collision occurred in the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Walnut Road. Evidence at the collision scene, witness statements, and video surveillance indicated that a 2011 Infiniti G-sedan was traveling westbound on Lake Mead Boulevard, approaching Walnut Road, in the right of three travel lanes at a high rate of speed. A Nissan Pathfinder was traveling eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard, approaching Walnut Road in the left turn-only lane. The Nissan began making a left turn on a flashing yellow turn arrow to travel northbound onto Walnut Road. The Infiniti entered the intersection, and a collision occurred when the front of the Infiniti struck the right side of the Nissan. Both vehicles began to rotate toward the northwest. Debris from the collision struck a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis that was parked in the parking lot at the northwest corner of the intersection.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported all of the occupants to the University Medical Center’s (UMC) Trauma Center. Per medical staff, the driver of the Nissan sustained life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the Nissan sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Infiniti sustained Serious injuries and did not show signs of impairment. The female passenger sustained minor injuries, and the juvenile sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Infiniti was booked abstensia into the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) for reckless driving and child abuse charges.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
