COLLISION DETAILS:

Motorcyclist’s death marks the 57th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Jurisdiction for the year 2026. On June 29, 2026, at approximately 7:10 a.m., a fatal vehicle-versus-motorcycle collision occurred at the intersection of South Pecos Road and East Russell Road. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and video surveillance indicated that a 2025 Indian Scout Bobber was traveling southbound on Pecos Road in the middle of three travel lanes, approaching Russell Road with a green light. A 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe was stopped for a solid red light on northbound Pecos Road, south of Russell Road, in the left of two left-turn lanes. The Hyundai began to make a left turn on a red signal, turning in front of the Indian motorcycle. A collision occurred when the front of the Indian motorcycle struck the right front side of the Hyundai. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and projected onto the roadway.

The motorcyclist sustained mortal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
