A pedestrian crossing Sahara Avenue suffers critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
On July 3, 2026, at approximately 7:49 PM, a critical injury vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive. Evidence at the collision scene indicated a 2010 Mazda 3 was traveling south on Torrey Pines Drive approaching the intersection of Sahara Avenue in the dedicated left turn lane. A pedestrian was crossing Sahara Avenue at Torrey Pines Drive on the east side of the intersection from north to south. A collision occurred when the driver of the Mazda made a left turn at the intersection, and the front of the Mazda contacted the pedestrian, projecting him onto the roadway. The Mazda came to a controlled stop east of the intersection.
The pedestrian was transported to UMC Trauma, and his injuries were determined to be critical. The driver of the Mazda remained at the collision scene and showed no signs of impairment. Neither the driver nor the passenger of the Mazda sustained any injuries as a result of the collision.
This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
