A single-vehicle collision leads to the 58th traffic-related fatality.
On July 4, 2026, at approximately 11:57 PM, a fatal vehicle collision occurred on Oso Blanca Road, south of Kyle Canyon Road. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that a 2020 Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on Oso Blanca Road, south of Kyle Canyon Road, at a high rate of speed. The Ford failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway and left the roadway to the right. It struck a raised dirt berm and overturned, coming to rest on its driver's side. The collision ignited the car, which was eventually put out.
Arriving emergency medical personnel determined that the Ford driver was beyond resuscitation and ceased lifesaving efforts. His death marks the 58th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2026. The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
