LVMPD Officer Arrested
On July 4, 2026, LVMPD Officer Jerry Wheeler was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for Battery Constituting Domestic Violence, 1st Offense (1 count).
On July 6, 2026, the Clark County District Attorney’s Office amended the charges to Child Abuse, Neglect or Endangerment (1 count), Battery (1 count), and Battery Constituting Domestic Violence, 1st Offense (1 count).
Wheeler has been employed with LVMPD since 2019. He is assigned to the Convention Center Area Command, Tourist Safety Division. He will be placed on suspension of police powers without pay pending further investigation.
