***Vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision that resulted in the pedestrian sustaining life-threatening injuries***

On August 02, 2026, at approximately 8:11 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian collision with life-threatening injuries occurred on South Eastern Avenue south of East Warm Springs Road. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated that a pedestrian was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk eastbound across South Eastern Avenue south of East Warm Springs Road. A 2025 Toyota RAV 4 was exiting a private drive on South Eastern Avenue south of East Warm Springs Road to make a southbound turn onto South Eastern Avenue. A collision occurred when the Toyota failed to avoid the pedestrian in the right most lane of southbound Eastern Avenue. The front of the Toyota then struck the pedestrian. After striking the pedestrian, the Toyota continued onto the east sidewalk with its right side wheels where the pedestrian separated from the vehicle. The Toyota left the sidewalk and stopped in the right most lane facing south on Eastern Avenue.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Trauma. Medical personnel determined that the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was admitted for continuous care. The driver of the Toyota remained on scene, showed no signs of impairment, and cooperated with the investigation.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
