Vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision results in life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian.
On August 2, 2026, at approximately 8:08 PM, a vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred on Tropicana Avenue west of Koval Lane. Evidence at the collision scene indicated a 2016 Land Rover Discovery was traveling eastbound on Tropicana Avenue approaching Koval Lane. A pedestrian was crossing Tropicana Avenue outside of a marked or implied crosswalk, entering the path of the Land Rover. A collision occurred when the front of the Land Rover contacted the pedestrian, projecting him onto the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the pedestrian to UMC Hospital with substantial injuries. UMC personnel determined the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the Land Rover remained at the collision scene and did not show signs of impairment.
This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
