A three-vehicle collision leads to the 70th traffic-related fatality.

On August 3, 2026, at approximately 1:42 PM, a fatal vehicle collision occurred on West Desert Inn Road west of Warnock Road. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that a 2015 Nissan Versa was traveling eastbound on West Desert Inn west of Warnock Road. A 2020 Hyundai Tucson was traveling westbound on West Desert Inn west of Warnock Road. A 2003 Toyota was stopped facing south in the parking lot of 4840 West Desert Inn, attempting to exit and turn right. A collision occurred when the Toyota attempted to turn left into the parking lot at 4840 West Desert Inn Road, entering the Hyundai's travel path. The collision redirected the Hyundai into the stopped Toyota. The three vehicles came to rest in and near the private drive of 4840 West Desert Inn Road. Arriving emergency medical personnel transported the driver and passenger of the Hyundai to UMC Trauma with minor injuries.

Arriving medical personnel transported the driver and passenger of the Nissan to UMC trauma. The driver sustained moderate injuries. Despite all life-saving efforts, the passenger succumbed to her injuries at University Medical Center. Her death marks the 70th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2026.

The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
