Vehicle versus pedestrian and vehicle traffic collision results in life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian.

On August 4, 2026, at approximately 10:33 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian and vehicle collision occurred on East Charleston Boulevard east of South Main Street. Evidence at the scene, video surveillance, and witness statements indicate a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban was stopped westbound at a red light on East Charleston Boulevard and South Main Street. A 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS was also stopped westbound at a red light on East Charleston Boulevard and Main Street behind the Chevrolet. A pedestrian was crossing East Charleston Boulevard north to south, east of the intersection outside of a marked or implied crosswalk between the Chevrolet and Mercedes-Benz. A collision occurred when, for an unknown reason, the Mercedes-Benz accelerated forward, striking the pedestrian and then trapping him between the Mercedes-Benz and the Chevrolet.

Emergency medical services responded and transported the pedestrian to University Medical Center's Trauma Unit. University Medical Center's Trauma Unit personnel determined the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was admitted. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz remained at the collision scene and did not show signs of impairment.

This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
