On 08/24/2026, a representative from the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner notified the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section that despite all life-saving measures, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries, and she was pronounced deceased by medical staff at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

LVMPD later located the vehicle involved in the collision, and it is no longer outstanding. The driver of the Toyota that was involved in the collision is still outstanding.

The pedestrian’s death marked the 80th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for the year 2026. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.

On August 23, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian hit and run collision occurred on South Nellis Boulevard and East Twain Avenue. Evidence collected at the scene of the investigation indicated that a pedestrian was crossing over Nellis Boulevard in an unknown direction, in or next to the marked crosswalk. An unknown gray sedan was traveling southbound on Nellis Boulevard, approaching Twain Avenue in the middle travel lane of three (T2). As the unknown vehicle entered the intersection, the pedestrian was struck and was projected forward onto the roadway. The unknown gray sedan failed to remain at the collision scene and fled the area.

The gray sedan will have damage to the front portion of the vehicle along with damage to the windshield.

Arriving medical personnel transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center’s Trauma Center, where she was admitted for life-threatening injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Collision Investigation Section.
