On July 1, 2026, LVMPD Homicide Detectives responded to Lake Mead National Recreation Area regarding the discovery of a deceased female. The investigation determined the female, identified as 53-year-old Kareamah Bey, was the victim of a homicide.
According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Bey was estimated to have been murdered and left at the location approximately two weeks prior to her discovery.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives have learned that Bey was experiencing homelessness and was known to frequent the area of Belmont Street and Carey Avenue in North Las Vegas. It was believed that she was last seen in the 3100 block of Thomas Avenue.
Detectives are asking anyone who knew Kareamah Bey, had contact with her, or may have information about her whereabouts or activities prior to her death to come forward.
Additionally, anyone who was at Lake Mead National Recreation Area in mid-to-late June and may have witnessed anything suspicious near mile marker 15 is urged to contact investigators.
Even the smallest detail may be important and could help investigators solve the homicide of Kareamah Bey.
