Communications Research Office Procedures
The LVMPD Communications Research Office serves various stakeholders, including private citizens, and law firms by providing access to essential information and records. Private citizens can submit requests in person at LVMPD Headquarters or any substation, or by mail, following specific guidelines outlined on our website. Law firms are required to submit civil subpoenas in person, while other requests can be made through our request form or via letterhead. News media requests are submitted online through our Public Records Unit portal.
Please note that we prioritize transparency while respecting privacy laws and ongoing investigations. Depending on the nature of the request, certain information may be redacted or withheld. Fees apply for record searches and reproductions. For specific inquiries or assistance, please contact our office at (702) 828-3871. We are here to support you in accessing the information you need.
Private Citizen
Requests can be completed in person at LVMPD Headquarters or any LVMPD substation, or through the Communications Bureau Records Online Portal. Requests can also be handled by mail by submitting a Communications Research Office Request Form and payment to LVMPD at 400 S. Martin L. King Blvd. Attn: Communications Bureau. Included must be the following:
- Contact information (mailing address and phone number).
- LVMPD Event Number or detailed information regarding incident.
- Address and date range to be searched regarding "Calls for Service"
- Check or Money Order made payable to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. (Payment is required prior to processing a request)
Law Firms
Civil subpoenas are required to be served in person per NRCP 45 (C) (2) (B) and will be processed by the Records Fingerprint Bureau. The drop-off location is 400 S. Martin L. King Blvd, Building C at the attorney window (TINC Window) Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All other requests can be made by using the Communications Bureau Records Online Portal.

Please Note
- We may not be able to release any information if the incident is an open case with our department.
- Personal information giving rise to a privacy interest will be removed when permitted by law, which is more common when a subpoena is not provided.
- There may be other reasons that information will be removed, as provided by law.
- All fees will still apply with "No Record" results.
