Work Cards
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) issues work cards in accordance with state and local law.
Non-refundable Fees

*Not all applications require an FBI background check. Total cost may be less than $104.00.
About Work Cards
- Work cards are valid for 5 years from the date of issuance
- Work cards are valid only for the type of employment listed on the card
- A new employer must complete a location change form and submit it to LVMPD within 5 days
- If you change employment type, submit a new application signed by your employer
- Work cards may not be issued to persons with felony convictions
- Work cards may not be issued to persons who falsify an application
Requirements
- Trim fingernails before fingerprinting if length or curvature may affect fingerprint quality
- Applications must include the original employer signature
- Complete applications in black ink only
- Complete applications prior to arrival
- Bring two forms of valid ID (one must include a photo):
- State ID, REAL ID, or driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles
- United States Passport
- Military ID
- Certified Birth Certificate
- Applicants age 25 and younger must provide an original or certified copy or a REAL ID card
- Social Security Card
- If born outside the United States or a U.S. territory, bring one additional form of identification:
- United States Passport
- Naturalization Certificate
- Authorization to Work documents
- Photocopies of ID or documents will not be accepted
Special Events Work Cards
For large-scale events (e.g., Formula 1, Electric Daisy Carnival), a work card application must be submitted through a registered employer. Applications are not accepted directly from individuals.
