The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department issues work cards in accordance with provisions prescribed by Nevada Revised Statute, Clark County Ordinances, and Las Vegas Municipal Code.

  • New or Renewal application with FBI background - $104.00*

*Not every card requires an FBI background check, so the cost could be less. Please be prepared to pay up to $104.00

About Work Cards

  • Work cards are valid for 5 years from date of issuance.
  • Work card is valid only for the type of employment for which you originally obtained your work card. Your new employer is required to complete a location change form and submit it to LVMPD within 5 days.
  • If you are working in a different type of employment than your original work card, you must obtain a signed application from your new employer and re-apply for a work card.
  • Work cards may not be issued to persons with felony convictions.
  • Work cards may not be issued to persons who falsify the application.

Requirements

  • Applicants with fingernails at a length or curvature which would not produce a good fingerprint and/or damage the LiveScan glass screen, will be required to trim their nails prior to being fingerprinted.
  • Applications will not be accepted without the original signature of your employer.
  • Applications must be completed in black ink only.
  • Applications must be completed prior to arrival.
  • Applicants must have two forms of valid ID (one of the two forms of ID must include a photo):
    • State ID, Real ID or driver's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
    • United States Passport
    • Military ID
    • Certified Birth Certificate *Persons 25 years of age and younger MUST show an original or certified copy of their birth certificate or REAL ID Card*.
    • Social Security Card
    • Naturalization Certificate
    • INS Authorization to Work
  • Applicants born outside of the United States or United States Territory, an additional form of identification is required:
    • United States Passport
    • Naturalization Certificate
    • Certified United States Birth Certificate
    • INS Authorization to Work

***Photocopies of ID/documents will not be accepted***

Special Events Work Cards

For special events such as Formula 1 (F1), Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), and similar large-scale events, individuals are still required to obtain a work card application through their employer, who must be a registered vendor for the event. Work card applications are not issued directly to individuals for these events without an employer-provided work card application. Child Care Work Cards

As of May 17, 2022, the LVMPD will no longer process work card applications for child care workers.
